What is your field of research - briefly described?
Biodiversity genomics and genome evolution, what are the driving forces of the extraordinary diversity in morphology, physiology, and behavior across species.
What are the research challenges in your field?
The genomic data is highly complex. How to read, identify, and interpret the genomic evolution patterns requires not only sophisticated algorithms and computational methods, but also new hypotheses.
Why is this research area particularly interesting?
It helps to better understand the evolutionary history of life and predict the impacts of climate change to life.
What do you expect from your membership in the Royal Academy?
To contribute to the international collaboration between Danish research community and the rest of the world.
Tell us a bit about the person behind the researcher.
I am a Chinese and have worked in University of Copenhagen during 2012-2022. I like to talk with people from other disciplines and seek a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to research and problem-solving.
